2019 HondaOdyssey Safety Technology | Don Wessel Honda | Springfield, MO
If you’re searching for a new vehicle for your family, it’s likely you want one that offers safety technologies to help you feel more confident behind the wheel. Here are the safety features that the family-friendly 2019 Honda Odyssey has to offer.
Know Your Surroundings
Each Odyssey comes standard with a multi-angle rearview camera, which allows you to check your surroundings before reversing out of your parking spot or driveway. This camera offers three angles to choose from, allowing you to pick the angle that will give you the best view for the driving situation you’re in. These angles include:
Normal View: Allows you to check for a clear path behind your Odyssey before you back up
Wide View: Gives you a wider view so you can see other vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists who are approaching from the rear
Top-Down View: A perfect option for parallel parking
This rearview camera also comes standard with guidelines, while the upper trim levels come with dynamic guidelines. These allow you to maneuver into tight spots, directing you on how to avoid potential obstacles.
Starting on the EX trim level, the Honda Sensing® suite of driver-assistance technologies comes standard. That means you will receive a range of innovations that will help you drive more safely, while keeping you aware of any potential hazards out on the road. Each system works to help warn you of hazards, prevent potential collisions, and mitigate them if prevention is not possible. This suite includes the following:
Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™)
Road Departure Mitigation System (RDM)
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS)*
Get Peace of Mind
Some safety technologies might not be as obvious as those available in the Honda Sensing® suite, but they work to give you peace of mind, nonetheless. These passive safety features include seat belts, airbags, locks, and more. In the Odyssey, you will receive passive features like:
Advanced Front Airbags
SmartVent Front Side Airbags
Three-Row Side Curtain Airbags with Rollover Sensor
Driver’s and Front Passenger’s Knee Airbags
3-Point Seat Belts at all Seating Positions
Front 3-Point Seat Belts with Automatic Tensioning System
Lower Anchors and Tethers for Children (LATCH)
Driver’s and Front Passenger’s Seat Belt Reminder
Child-Proof Rear Door Locks
You can learn more about these safety features when you visit our team at Don Wessel Honda.
*CMBS™ cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. System designed to mitigate crash forces. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
Road Departure Mitigation only alerts drivers when lane drift is detected without a turn signal in use and can apply mild steering torque to assist driver in maintaining proper lane position and/or brake pressure to slow the vehicle’s departure from a detected lane. RDM may not detect all lane markings or lane departures; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, road conditions, and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
ACC cannot detect all objects ahead and may not detect a given object; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, and other factors. ACC should not be used in heavy traffic, poor weather, or on winding roads. ACC only includes a limited braking function. Driver remains responsible for slowing or stopping the vehicle to avoid a collision.
LKAS only assists driver in maintaining proper lane position when lane markings are identified without a turn signal in use and can only apply mild steering torque to assist. LKAS may not detect all lane markings; accuracy will vary based on weather, speed, road conditions, and other factors. System operation affected by extreme interior heat. Driver remains responsible for safely operating vehicle and avoiding collisions.
