The Honda CR-V is the best-selling name in Honda’s lineup and a fan favorite across the entire industry. There’s no denying that people love the CR-V, with its affordable, family-friendly, and reliable nature paired with attractive design and great value. However, Honda has been keeping a big secret under wraps the past few months - the next-generation 2017 Honda CR-V. Honda took a direction that many automakers don’t; instead of totally revamping the look of the Honda CR-V, they chose instead to tweak and improve upon what drivers already loved about it.
First of all the 2017 CR-V will sit on the same platform architecture as the beloved Honda Civic, which is revered for its safety and reliability just as much as its style. The Honda CR-V has been made more spacious, more upscale, more powerful, more safe - just all-around MORE in every way. The exterior designs between previous generations and the new model don’t look so different, but Honda didn’t want to alienate loyal customers by mixing it up too much. It is slightly bigger and has an extra inch or so of ground clearance for better handling in rough road conditions.
However, once you get inside, the 2017 Honda CR-V boasts some big changes. The redesigned interior offers more comfortable, high-quality materials and contemporary good looks. Plus, the CR-V has gotten a big boost when it comes to technology, with an upgraded, fine-tuned touchscreen that can’t be found on any other vehicles in Honda’s lineup at the moment. Bluetooth compatibility and automatic climate control come standard, too.
While the standard engine in the 2017 CR-V remains the same, a new turbocharged option is on the scene for drivers who want an extra oomph to their drive. The new engine will crank out 190 horsepower. Either options can be mated to a CVT for better fuel economy, and all-wheel drive is also available.
